Boustead Institute’ is printed at the bottom edge of the photographThe building of Boustead Institute was located between Anson Road and Tanjong Pagar Road. It was used by seamen of the Tanjong Pagar Dock Company as a residence when they were transiting through Singapore. The building was named after Edward Boustead, founder of the Tanjong Pagar Dock Company, the Chamber of Commerce, and The Singapore Free Press.
