Skirtcloth

This skirtcloth consists of two lengths of backstrap woven cloth stitched together horizontally along the selvedge. Made using the weft ikat technique, the cloth is decorated with rows of stylized human and animal figures, possibly lizards, bordered with thin paired stripes of red interspersed with plain brown or simply decorated strips with staggered plain dashes.
