Hammam bath bowl

This silver bowl with a flat base has its exterior engraved with floral and foilage motifs. It would have been used to scoop water to wash oneself in the ‘hammam’ or baths.As Islam is the guiding principle in all aspects of a Muslim’s life, it also provides some guidelines on attire and appearance. Great importance is placed on cleanliness and hygiene, and Muslims are expected to be neatly dressed and to take care of their physical appearance.
