Sembawang Park has one of the last few natural beaches in Singapore and is a popular recreational place for Singaporeans, especially for those who enjoy bird-watching. The park is connected to a rich history as well as it was part of the naval base.
The Sembawang jetty in front of Beaulieu House was built by the British in the 1940s and completed by the Japanese during their occupation from 1942 to 1945. The walkways and pavements we see in the park today are restored from former paths laid by the British.
