Hand Embroidered Bedspread

In the years preceding the Second World War Indian women in Singapore were essentially homemakers and contributed to community work, arts and crafts. This is a bedspread from the collection of the late Lakshmi Rangasamy Davar; she was a woman pioneer – she was an educationist, musician and philanthropist.
