Chair cover

This chair cover features embroidered flower motifs. The qilin, a Chinese auspicious motif, is embroidered in gold as it is the colour and symbol of wealth and good fortune. Chinese motifs such as the dragon and qilin are commonly found on these chair covers as protective and auspicious symbols. The Peranakans adorn chairs meant for important ceremonies with such covers during weddings.
