Decorative panel for baby carrier

This decorative panel would originally have been attached to the back of a baby carrier. It was made by either the Kayan or Kenyah people of Central Borneo who are well known for their highly ornate beadwork. The human face represents the guardian spirit to protect the baby in the carrier.
