Powder horn

This powder horn is made of wood, mother-of-pearl with brass and in the shape of a naturalistic animal horn. It was used to store gun powder, mostly for ceremonial occassions. It was a product of the decorative art's industry which gave utilitarian items an artistic touch for ceremonail purposes. This industry also enjoyed royal patronage.
