A European residence at Tanglin

‘Tanglin’ was derived from the name of William Napier’s house− ‘Tang Leng’ which was later renamed Tyersall. The Teochews first ventured into the area shortly after the founding of Singapore, followed by European merchants who built their residences and plantations there.
