This is a silver-glit comb which features motifs of the ancestral home or ship, and the tree of life on the top. This was also worn during weddings. The use of this motif reflects a sense of respect for the ancestors, and also the belief that there is a supernatural realm of ancestral spirits and deities capable of exercising power over the living.
